Job Description


The purpose of this role is to provide an effective, non-promotional scientific service to healthcare professionals, and to maintain a high level of medical, scientific and technical knowledge and expertise in relation to the CNS and Respiratory therapy areas.


Main Accountabilities:


  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including the ABPI Code of Practice, IPHA, IMB, MHRA regulations, and Teva internal processes
  • Build and maintain scientifically current disease area, product and therapy knowledge
  • Provide scientific and technical support for, and maintain, credible, professional relations with clinicians, local decision-makers, external experts and academic centres
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the structure and workings of the NHS and Ireland Healthcare System
  • Produce and update scientific presentations for the assigned therapy areas
  • Support the formulary process through provision of the appropriate scientific data
  • Identify and address medical educational activities relating to disease area needs
  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of the competitive environment, ongoing clinical research and publications in the designated disease area
  • Work collaboratively with both Medical Information, Marketing and other internal stakeholders
  • Attend national and international congresses as needed, and subsequently disseminate pertinent information both internally and externally (where appropriate)
  • Provide therapy area and product specific training to field-based and office based non-scientific personnel
  • Review promotional and educational materials against the ABPI and IPHA Code of Practices and relevant statutory instruments and laws
  • Respond to unsolicited medical requests from health care professionals in line with the Codes of Practice and company policy
  • Work with expert speakers and Faculty members, and support medical congress/meeting activities



  • Pharmacy or higher degree qualification (e.g. PhD) in a relevant scientific/medical area
  • Experience of working in, and detailed knowledge of the CNS and Respiratory therapy areas, or significant experience in similar or other therapeutic areas
  • Demonstrate evidence of a successful career in a medical non-promotional field based role within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Willing to travel widely to cover a large geographical territory
  • Ability to stay overnight away from home and to travel internationally from Ireland to UK and other European countries as the business demands
  • Good presentation skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Solid data analysis and project management skills
  • Able to operate as a flexible team player
