The opportunity

The Head of Accounting is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations within the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements internally and externally, and delivering accurate and timely financial reporting. This role involves managing the accounting team, implementing robust internal controls, and supporting strategic financial planning.

How you’ll spend your day

  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/ US GAAP.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Compliance & Controls:
    • Maintain compliance with local tax laws, statutory requirements, and corporate policies.
    • Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to achieve departmental goals.
    • Allocate tasks and monitor performance to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:
    • Support the finance team in preparing budgets and forecasts.
    • Provide insights and variance analysis to assist decision-making.
  • Audit & Risk Management:
    • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely completion and resolution of findings.
    • Identify and mitigate financial risks.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Drive automation and process enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency.
    • Implement best practices in accounting and financial management.

Your experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, certified accountant degree would be an asset
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/ US GAAP and local tax regulations.
  • Excellent in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills. SAP knowledge would be strong advantage
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
