What will you do?

As Director Engineering & Maintenance you are responsible for our Maintenance, Project Engineering, Utilities and Calibration teams of our complex manufacturing site in Haarlem. You will have 7 direct and 45 indirect reports. You are a member of our divers Site Leadership team and you will report to the Site General Manager with a dotted line to the Regional Head of Engineering. 

You main task will be to ensure efficient and reliable functioning of the technical equipment and installations of the entire factory. You will do this in accordance with GMP guidelines and implementation of the frameworks of our company policy. You will take into account the company objectives, resources and costs and (inter) national regulations.

Main Responsibilities are:
-    Maintain all production equipment, facilities and utilities in an effective operating and compliant state.
-    Ensure that installations and changes to equipment and systems are carried out, qualified, and documented according to approved protocols, change control procedures and in compliance with relevant cGMP and corporate requirements.

-    Build a site Master Plan (5 years) that provides a roadmap for required facility upgrades and investments, including rationale, ROI, etc., in order to ensure business continuity aligned with quality & EHS requirements and with the global strategy.
-    Initiate and lead introduction of new assets, equipment and systems that will contribute to the business strategic direction, in accordance with approved change control procedures. 
-    Provide necessary guidance to ensure compliance with all applicable external and internal regulations and requirements regarding Quality and EHS in the scope of Engineering.
-    Drive Continues Improvement to meet world class manufacturing standards using Operational Excellence principles while continuously developing Engineering best practices. 
-    Run an efficient and effective Engineering activity through managing the Engineering site budget and resources. 
-    Identify, develop and retain qualified people to provide Engineering and Maintenance Services
-    You are a influential functional expert within the site leadership team. Influence decision making and take an active role in promoting cross-site initiatives, team work and collaboration across site’s functions. 
-    Implement global best practices and actively share knowledge and lessons learned to contribute and support on high professional level of engineering globally.
-    Serve as the main Teva representative in communication with suppliers, subcontractors and planning firms regarding the site’s assets, equipment, systems and maintenance services. Supervise their activity to ensure efficient and effective work and to ensure Teva’s business interests and global agreements and standards are well kept.

Who are you?

You have a background in Engineering or related field and you will bring at least 10 years of experience in leading Engineering teams in a highly regulated industry. 

You will have adequate experience in maintenance in a relevant industrial production environment like chemical and pharmaceutical production, preferred knowledge of GMP and EH&S local regulations. You will bring knowledge of Project Management, Continues Improvement and Good Engineering Practices, facility and utility systems.

You will have the ability to manage Capital and Operational expenses and you have adequate financial understanding.

You are fluent in English, Dutch will be considerate a plus.

Site General Manager with a dotted line to the Regional Engineering Head.
