The opportunity
In this exciting and dynamic role you’ll become part of the tax team located in the European head office in Haarlem, currently existing of 8 tax colleagues.
Your main responsibility is the Dutch corporate income tax compliance. This includes the preparation and filing of the Dutch tax returns, review (and keep track) of the assessments. Furthermore you will document the tax positions and information relating to the tax returns in our files and keep this up to date.
In addition, you will assist the Dutch tax director in day-to-day activities and projects. You’ll be working together closely with your colleagues from structuring, transfer pricing and accounting and will be situated in the Haarlem office. You’ll have freedom and flexibility in your day to day job, without having to worry about timesheets or budgets.
As mentioned above, if you are interested, you have also good opportunities to learn more about the quarterly tax provisioning-tax accounting.
How you’ll spend your day
Tax compliance
- Preparation and filing of all Dutch corporate income tax returns
- Cooperation with other departments (i.e. tax structuring, accounting, treasury)
- Managing day-to-day activities related to Dutch income tax compliance (i.e. reviewing assessments, updating of tax estimations, internal communication on payments)
- Take part in meetings and discussions with the Dutch tax authorities
- If you are interested, you have good opportunities to learn more about tax accounting-tax provisioning. In that case you can assist in the quarterly tax provisioning.
- This provisioning consists of the review of the ETR (Effective Tax Rate), the review of tax positions (current and deferred tax) and acting as a focal point of contact of a few EU countries.
Tax management
- (Assisting in) advice with respect to corporate income taxes and withholding taxes
- Assisting in day-to-day activities relating to tax planning and ad-hoc projects, such as:
- i.e. but not limited to International corporate restructurings, international M&A projects, divestments, tax audits, dividends
- (re-)financing projects
Your experience and qualifications
- Degree in Dutch tax law, economics and/or accounting
- 4-5 years experience with Dutch corporate income tax compliance is a must
- Good knowledge of Dutch corporate income tax legislation
- Fluency in Dutch and English
- Advanced MS excel knowledge and strong numerical skills
- Ability to work with tight deadlines
- Good communicator and team player
- Pro-active and creative thinking
- 5 days, but less days can also be discussed.
