In this role, you will serve as the EXM Business Partner & Category Procurement Lead, responsible for establishing and leading category management across Company’s External Manufacturing (EXM) network, spanning Innovative, Biologics and Generic products. In addition this role will lead engagement with Business Development, R&D and Commercial in respect to understanding of procurement needs and priorities, in order to develop near / long term procurement plans in support of those business goals.
Reporting directly to the VP Procurement – External Manufacturing & Devices, you will lead a team of category managers and sourcing leads across four core product technologies and support approximately $1.5B in external manufacturing spend. This role is accountable for building clear category strategies, strengthening supplier engagement, and improving procurement consistency and effectiveness across the internal Teva business stakeholder environment.
As a key business partner to External Manufacturing and Business Development, you will help translate business needs into practical procurement strategies, while progressively maturing procurement’s role as a reliable, value-adding function. This role is suited for a leader who is comfortable operating in a developing procurement environment, balancing strategic intent with hands-on execution, structure-building, and change leadership.
How You’ll Spend Your Day
Category & Procurement Strategy
- Establish and lead category management approaches across External Manufacturing categories (Oral / Solid Dose; Liquid / Cream / Ointment; Sterile; Biologics).
- Develop clear, actionable category strategies aligned to business priorities, supplier capabilities, and near- to mid-term manufacturing needs.
- Translate business objectives into procurement priorities, balancing cost, capacity, risk, and service requirements.
- Partner with Global Procurement Sourcing Leads to ensure strategies are practically executed through sourcing and contracting activities, while also directly leading sourcing execution for Business Development and R&D.
Supplier & Network Management
- Oversee key EXM supplier relationships, ensuring appropriate engagement, performance oversight, and issue resolution.
- Support the development of more structured supplier management practices, including performance tracking, capacity discussions, and improvement initiatives.
- Partner closely with Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams to ensure suppliers meet required standards and expectations.
- Contribute to improving supply resilience and continuity by identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities within the EXM network.
Business Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a primary procurement partner to senior leaders in External Manufacturing and Business Development, with a secondary focus on R&D and Commercial.
- Support Business Development activities by providing procurement and supplier insights to inform external manufacturing decisions.
- Communicate procurement priorities, trade-offs, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders, helping build trust and alignment.
- Represent procurement in cross-functional forums, ensuring supplier and category considerations are appropriately reflected in business decisions.
Financial & Value Delivery
- Deliver measurable value through cost optimization, sourcing discipline, and demand management, aligned to business expectations.
- Support COS reduction initiatives through practical sourcing and supplier actions.
- Contribute to value beyond savings, including improved supplier performance, better capacity visibility, and reduced supply risk.
- Help establish basic value tracking and reporting mechanisms for EXM procurement activities.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of category managers, providing direction, prioritization, and practical guidance.
- Establish clearer roles, ways of working, and expectations within the EXM category team.
- Build foundational category management capabilities, tools, and processes to support consistency and scalability.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within Global Procurement.
Market & Supplier Insight
- Maintain awareness of EXM market dynamics, supplier capabilities, capacity trends, and regulatory considerations.
- Bring relevant supplier and market insights to business partners to support informed decision-making.
- Leverage external perspectives selectively to strengthen procurement strategies and supplier discussions curated through strategic relationship programs with key suppliers.
Your Skills and Experience
Experience & Expertise
- Proven experience leading category management or strategic sourcing teams within manufacturing or regulated industries.
- Demonstrated knowledge of External Manufacturing / CDMO services is strongly preferred.
- Working understanding of the pharmaceutical regulatory environment.
- Experience partnering with senior Manufacturing and/or Business stakeholders.
- Strong ability to operate effectively in matrixed, evolving organizations.

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Comfortable driving change in environments with developing processes and systems.
- Solid analytical, financial, and commercial acumen.

Education
- Master’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years of people leadership or equivalent team leadership experience.
Also Good to Have
- Experience supporting procurement function build-out or transformation.
- Six Sigma or similar certification (nice to have).
