Your role


The Occupational Hygienist is one of the four core experts in the field of working conditions, recognized by law in the Netherlands.


Together with the company doctor, the Higher Safety Expert and the Labor and Organization Expert, you are a general advisor in the field of health and sustainable employability in work organizations.


You will also advise on the optimizing of working conditions care.

Your responsibilities


  • Advising employers and co-workers on how to manage problems in the work environment, with the aim of protecting the workers.
  • Preventing health damage during work is central.
  • You will be the designated specialist in the field of stressful factors in the work environment that can have a harmful influence on the health of employees (or on the offspring of employees).
  • You advise, among other things, on exposure in the workplace to toxic and/or hazardous substances, noisy machines, vibrating tools, harmful radiation, fungi and bacteria, etc.
  • Focusing on recognizing, evaluating and controlling, in particular, physical, chemical and biological factors in all of the burdensome factors that arise in or through work situations and that can influence the health of the working person and/or his/her offspring.
  • Risk analysis relating to the professional performance of work.

Your profile


  • EHS experience within manufacturing / pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Hygiene and Safety practices relevant to pharmaceutical (chemical) industry.
  • HBO + Level education with IH Background is a must.
  • 3 years’ minimum experience in implementing a sustainable safety culture.
  • Knowledge of EHS Management systems
  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management
  • Fluent language proficiency in Dutch & English
  • Proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude.
