Your role


As the Site Head of Production for Haarlem, the main purpose of your role will be to manage all related activities regarding our production of generic medicines, complex sterile products & dedicated cancer treatments.


You will have the opportunity to translate and drive the site’s plan in to a detailed production schedule in close cooperation with Site Supply Chain.

Your responsibilities


  • Ensure on-time delivery of products and workflow optimization. Responsibility for monitoring and controlling costs in accordance with budget. Mitigating any risks in delivery time, quality, safety or cost.
  • Accountable for reviewing, organizing and planning daily & monthly production schedules. Ascertain product data such as types, quantities and specifications of products to meet delivery dates.
  • Ensure acceptable quality of all manufactured products, maintaining environmental regulations and standards.
  • You will make sure that all equipment is available, qualified and ready, whilst managing the materials flow.
  • Ensure Employee Safety, Product Quality and Compliance.
  • Strategically evaluate operational efficiencies and leverage best practices for meeting future production goals and continuous improvement (automation, headcount, etc.).
  • Translate the site’s strategic plan to Production long term plan (facilities, processes, systems, capacity plan). Recommending technology and equipment to be used for specific operations.
  • Look after the well - being, safety and health of the workforce. Drive employee enablement and engagement and ensure proper training is provided to guarantee certified, competent staff to accomplish the required tasks.
  • This role is part of the Site Leadership Team


Your profile


  • Masters’ Degree in a related discipline
  • 5-8 years’ experience in a similar site leadership position
  • Expert knowledge of pharmaceutical production operation lifecycle
  • Advanced knowledge of cGMP, ICH, EHS and applicable local regulation
  • Team orientated with a strong continuous improvement mindset
  • Knowledge of OPEX behaviors, principles and tools, with demonstrated successful OPEX transformational leadership
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Languages; Dutch (advantageous) & English (mandatory)
