How you’ll spend your day

  • Responsible for identification and ensuring compliance of regulatory requirements applicable to the site.
  • Prepare and update compliance calendar for site and submit report of the same periodically.
  • Ensure effective implementation of  Process Safety Management system in all the process areas.
  • Responsible for conducting process risk analysis by conducting HAZOPs for new process & products at various stages product life cycles.  
  • Conduct Job Safety Analysis, Safety Audits and Surveys in various plants areas.
  • Stringent management of changes taking place at site. Continuous awareness amongst employees to capture EHS aspects during any changes.
  • Ensure best industrial hygiene practices are followed at site. To conduct qualitative and quantitative exposure analysis for the activities at the site.
  • Analyze accidents, incidents & near miss incidents to find the root cause, suggest remedial measures and monitor for completion of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare procedures / SOPs for the implementation of the Safety Management System at site in line with global standards and guidelines.
  • Formulate Procedures/ Guidelines /Work instructions for the safely handling Hazardous Chemicals / materials, their storages and safe disposal.
  • Ensure healthiness of Fire protection system and other emergency equipment for all potential hazard storages /installations & processes.
  • Prepare and update site emergency plan and update the same time to time.
  • Conduct firefighting training and emergency plan training to all employees.
  • Conduct Pre start up safety reviews at the facility.
  • Guide team of safety professionals for excellence in EHS performance

  • Prepare HAZMAT and MOCK drill procedures and conduct the periodical drills in the plant.
  • Prepare site PPE matrix and select and provide proper PPE and Emergency safety equipment's for employees.
  • Conduct work place monitoring in plants to identify the hazards and suggest the remedial measures.
  • Identify training needs of the site and implementation of training calendar for employees and contractors.  
  • Drive contractor safety management at site, Review safety performance of contract employees and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Implement work permit system and LOTO system in plant.
  • Prepare and maintain the area risk register and ensure risk control measures are implemented at site.  
  • Monitor performance of the waste treatment and management facility

Your experience and qualifications

  • B.E./ Diploma in Chemical Engineering./ M.sc Chemistry or B.sc Chemistry + Diploma in Industrial Safety
  • 12-15 Years relevant experience 
  • Good understanding of EHS statutory requirements, process safety and Safety procedures, Industrial Hygiene, Good trainer, Understanding of GMP
