How you’ll spend your day

  • To ensure the smooth functioning and maintaining of qualification status of all the equipment & Instruments, Utility Service & facility as per Change control procedure.   
  • Supervision of all the preventive Maintenance and calibration of all the Equipment & Instruments and ensuring the compliance with schedules.
  • To analyze breakdowns and provide Engineering solution to avoid repetitive failures and comply with all statutory requirements.
  • Ensure that, the preventive maintenance schedules are prepared discussed and agreed with production and adhere to.
  • To introduce predictive maintenance system and to prepare budgets for 3 years as per work plan and monitor and control the same effectively and prepare and circulate a monthly report as required.
  • To carry out small modification projects within the plant for introduction of new products and for up gradations as per GMP and safety norms and improving flexibility within time frame and costs.
  • To ensure all systems and procedures as required, are maintained as per cGMP statutory laws and in accordance with SOP’s.
  • To ensure, calibration of equipment is done as per defined SOP’s. GMP and safety norms on continual basis and well documented.
  • To create and develop the second line within the department. Also, to recruit, motivate and retain the talents in the department and train the people continuously as required by the department
  • To assign quarterly targets to all direct reportees, review and report the same impartially at the end of each quarter.
  • To procure the engineering spares optimally as required for effective management of engineering department and monitor the same efficiently.
  • To maintain the overall facility as assets and as per GMP and Safety requirements.
  • The word Engineering Consist of a) Electrical. b) Mechanical. c) Instrumentation, d) Civil and e) Utilities.
  • Responsible for Construction Management and completion all projects within time and within budget.
  • To take care of all finishing aspects as per cGMP requirement and complete IQ and OQ documentation for all projects.
  • To prepare the bar chart of execution of all projects and prepare monthly report for all projects
  • Responsible for plant safety review by safety department and clearance of all points before commissioning and sign off. Also, ensure safety requirements during construction.
  • Prepare as-built drawings and handover the facility to maintenance department and responsible for review of consultant drawings and comment on the constructability and get the drawing amended.

  • Review budget before submission to Management.
  • Responsible to take part in detailed layout and safety analysis.
  • To follow all laid down internal procedures and SOP’s related to projects.
  • To initiate indents for procurement of capital equipment. Review quotes and provide the Technical Comparison Sheet to procurement department for purchasing.
  • To liaise with Admn. Department to provide all drawings for statutory requirements before initialization of projects.
  • Follow up with procurement and to ensure all capital items as ordered and delivered on time and as per quality.
  • Responsible for DQ & IQ document of the project.
  • To co-ordinate with various project stakeholder for timely completion of project work.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial forecasts on project spending, identifying opportunities to improve forecast and schedule accuracy.
  • Provide engineering management support for manufacturing Platforms and ensure gap analysis, action plans and eventual compliance with quality system & safety.
  • Understanding and absorbing new technologies and manage implementation in manufacturing organization by interfacing effectively with Purchase, Finance, Logistics to ensure speedy completion of project.
  • To recruit, motivate and retain key talent of the department.
  • To train all the team members as required for effective functioning of the department.
  • To set out clear deliverable to the team members at the beginning of the year and review and provide feedback without any bias to sub-ordinate for their growth.
  • Responsible to certify all contractor payments after due measurement checks within stipulated time

Your experience and qualifications

  • Qualification: Mechanical Engineering only
  • Experience required: 18 to 22 years
  • Candidate should have experience working in the API/Fine Chemical industry
