Job Description

The purpose of the Neurology Sales Specialist is to increase sales and market

share in their assigned geographic and therapeutic areas. Successful interaction

with healthcare professionals and other designated decision makers is a primary

responsibility. Utilizing all available Sales and Marketing resources is a key



Major duties and responsibilities that are critical and

necessary, and that must be done to achieve this position’s

overall objective


 Delivers sales results via calls on targeted physicians in 80%

assigned territory to implement sales, marketing and patient

support programs to get and keep patients on Teva Neuroscience


o Trains and educates physician support staff on the proper use,

handling and administration of Teva Neuroscience products

o Assures that healthcare professionals have realistic expectations

concerning the use of Teva Neuroscience products with their


 Maintains communication and integrates activities, when 10%

appropriate, with Professional Education and Account Management

 Identifies customer changes and ensures, through coordinated 10%

communication and planning, that appropriate people and

financial resources are allocated to address the change

Core competencies that an incumbent needs to be successful

in this position and that distinguish this position from others

similar to it.


Product Knowledge

 Has a basic knowledge and understanding of the fields of therapy for all

promoted products.

 Is learning the MOA and strengths / weaknesses of key competitors in order

to effectively compare and contrast with promoted products.

 Has a basic knowledge and understanding of clinical trials and can use

appropriately as proof sources.

Territory Management / Advanced Business Acumen

 Beginning to coordinates and utilize resources towards increased product


 Beginning to understands and act upon current issues within the marketplace

relative to managed care, pharmaceutical industry, and national health care


 Increasing in the knowledge of the institutional and KOL influence within


 Can identify targeted customers through the use of IMS and all available data

but the analysis is not at a high level.

 Beginning to implement the call plan

 Balances analysis and the resulting action plans



Education required

Bachelor’s Degree

Education preferred

Bachelor’s Degree in science or business

Specific experience required

2 plus years pharmaceutical or health related fields

Pharma sales experience preferred

develop him/her.
