Job Description

  1. To inspect the locations where dangerous work i.e. (hot work, work in confined space, work at height) to be performed and approve the permit if all the safety requirements are complied.
  2. Take a daily round of all plants as per safety point of view and reporting to Dept head about any dispute, unsafe act & condition and taking suggestion if needed.
  3. To conduct the monthly internal plant safety audit, VOC monitoring, prepare report and send to the concern department head for the compliance and follow up for compliance.
  4. To conduct the monthly mock drill and conduct training on emergency handling equipments in plant & prepare the report & send to the concern department head for the compliance.
  5. Prepare the Weekly, Monthly Report (Performance Review Report, Flash Report, and Activity Report), OSHA and work plan report.
  6. To conduct the HAZOP study for the new process or modifications, prepare report & sent to the concern department for the compliance & collect compliance report from the concern department.
  7. Review & approval of the BPR & Change control documents as per the safety concern & HAZOP recommendations.
  8. To conduct safety training for contract workers, plant operators/chemists and officers to increase safety awareness.
  9. Prepare, update and document the standard operating procedure (SOP) related to safety department.
  10. Investigate the incident, prepare the incident investigation report and follow up for corrective action to avoid the recurrence.
  11. Follow up with the Engineering, Project, production and laboratory regarding implementation internal, external safety audit recommendations.
  12. Inspection of supplied /installed safety equipment in different plant and on various locations, their replacement, rectification and updating.
  13. To maintain the safety related equipments (Fire extinguishers, hydrant, AFT, safety showers, SCBA, ELBA, Foam Trolley, Foam stations, Sprinklers, Hydrant pump house etc.) maintenance records for statutory requirement.
  14. To keep up the inventory of safety equipment, their distribution in various plants.
  15. To conduct motivational activities like safety exhibition, plantation, inauguration, celebration of environment, safety, fire service Day.
  16. To coordinate Safety Champion activity in the plant.
  17. To monitor the Hazard Board reports status in the plants, and follow regarding implementation.
  18. Complete the safety assignment as per the direction of department head.
  19. Any other activity assigned from time to time depending upon the requirement of Management.
