The opportunity
Position Summary: Supervise the work and employee activities within the packaging department, complying with all cGMP, SOP, & Company
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Supervise the filling and packaging of solid dose and oral suspension products
• Supervise and coordinate employees in the Packaging Department
• Ensure all activities are performed in accordance cGMP's
• Write and update SOP's pertaining to department activities and review with employees
• Train packaging personnel on revised procedures, new equipment and/or application
• Possess a strong focus on quality, safety and efficiency, constantly evaluating work practices in the spirit of Improvement
• Ensure the security and accountability of materials and goods with inventory control
• Recommend procedures to increase the efficiency of the department
• Make certain that packaging standards are adhered to and execute disciplinary action when required
• Work within prescribed yearly operational budget
• Conduct thorough investigations pertaining to packaging deficiencies
• Interfere and support cross functional departmental needs to support production
• To identify and prevent health and safety issues, such as dress code, personal hygiene, equipment properly maintained, report and document accident and incidents immediately by following proper procedures
• Have knowledge of ERP systems and Packaging Vision systems
• Perform other related duties as assigned by Manager/Director.
• Maintain Employee Timecard System, employee work hours, vacation, and leave of absence and control overtime.
• Has the ability to seek out and implement production process improvements to improve quality, reduce cost and improve safety
• Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English

Position Requirements
Education Required: High School Diploma
Education Preferred Bachelors Degree
Experience Required: Experience and a strong working knowledge of a Packaging Department
Company-Related Knowledge: Knowledge of applicable SOPs and cGMPs.
Functional Knowledge: Knowledge of the Packaging Department and ERP system
Physical Requirements May be required to lift/move up to 70 lbs.
Not allergic to cephalosporins, chemicals or bio-substances found in laboratory or production facilities.
