The opportunity
As our Local Safety Officer, you’ll have an important responsibility: ensuring that patients in Finland can use our medicines safely. You will lead the local pharmacovigilance system and work closely with both global PV and our Finnish affiliate.

How you’ll spend your day
Strategic Leadership, Collaboration & Governance
- Act as Finland’s main PV contact and lead PV topics during inspections.
- Maintain a reliable and efficient local PV system, with clear backup and continuity arrangements.
- Be a trusted partner for internal teams (medical, regulatory, quality, commercial, digital, legal) and for external stakeholders.
- Ensure local activities are aligned with the global PV strategy.
- Contribute to annual planning, resourcing, and budgeting in a pragmatic, solution-driven way.
Regulatory Compliance & Oversight
- Keep up with Finnish and EU PV requirements and guide local implementation.
- Ensure all safety activities and submissions meet local legislation.
- Oversee the PV quality system, including SOPs, training, agreements, and reporting compliance.
- Manage PV vendors and partners, including due diligence and contracts.
- Ensure secure, organised, and audit-ready documentation.
Support Safety & Risk Management
- Implement and follow up on additional Risk Minimisation Measures (aRMMs).
- Stay informed about product safety profiles and coordinate local actions when needed.
- Work with internal teams on any safety-related public or media questions.
- Respond promptly to safety‑related requests from the Finnish authorities.
SOPs, Training & Knowledge Management
- Ensure local SOPs and work instructions are current and aligned with corporate standards and local regulatory requirements;
- Ensure PV training programs are implemented for local employees and vendors;
- Promote a culture of compliance and PV knowledge sharing within the local affiliate.
Your experience and qualifications
- University degree in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, or similar.
- 4+ years of experience in pharmacovigilance, including work with regulators.
- Solid understanding of PV legislation (local and global).
- Fluent in English and in Finnish.
- Ability to work with different stakeholders in a structured, calm, and cooperative way.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask effectively, prioritize competing demands, and work confidently with a wide range of systems and tools.
- Strong analytical skills, eye for detail, and comfortable working with documentation.
- A high sense of integrity, responsibility, and ethics.
