Job Description

The Sr. EHS Engineer will be responsible for helping site identify, manage and mitigate environmental, health and safety risks. Ensure compliance to all applicable laws and regulations governing all aspects of Environmental Health and Safety. Help site follow all Corporate EHS requirements as needed by developing and implementing various EHS programs and procedures.


Essential Duties/Functions

  • Help ensure the site to be compliant with all EHS regulations at the Federal, State, and Local levels
  • Develop, improve, and implement site specific EHS programs per corporate and regulatory requirements
  • Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to spearhead improvement of equipment, services, work practices or processes
  • Perform risk assessments of current and new/changed manufacturing processes and equipment to identify risks and develop a mitigation plan to protect employees' safety and health
  • Develop and assist in implementation of an ergonomics program with help from a consultant
  • Work on industrial hygiene program improvement at the site with help from consultants and implement improvements 
  • Develop and conduct EHS training regularly to help in achieving 100% compliance 
  • Coordinate and participate in facility EHS inspections to identify and mitigate hazards
  • Lead incident investigations to find root causes and ensure implementation of CAPAs identified
  • Assist in implementation, enforcement, and compliance to various environmental programs including hazardous waste management, wastewater and air programs, and other environmental requirements
  • Work with various levels of site personnel to establish and execute processes and systems that support and reinforce EHS compliance 
  • Participate in audits of existing programs and address deficiencies
  • Provide support during inspections


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Science, preferably in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, or other Engineering or sciences closely related discipline is required
  • At least 3 years of EHS experience in manufacturing industry required, preferably in Pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Experience with federal, state, and local regulations relative to EHS to include: General Safety, Occupational Safety, Process Safety, and Environmental Regulations
  • Experience with conducting EHS trainings and presentations required
  • Knowledge of CGMPs a plus
  • CIH or CSP or working towards receiving preferred
  • Ability to be on call 24 hours for emergency response needs required and work to cover all work shifts required
  • MS Office experience required
