In Bulgaria, we are the largest employer in the pharmaceutical industry with near 1700 employees in the two manufacturing plants (Dupnitsa and Troyan); sales and marketing organization and in a number of global corporate functions based in our country. After the acquisition of Actavis by Teva Pharmaceuticals, in Bulgaria we are operating under the Teva brand.  

 

We are looking for qualified and motivated candidate for the role of Procurement Director.

 

About the position

 

The Procurement Country Head provides all round procurement service to the Teva sites Dupnitsa and Troyan, Sofia office, commercial office in Baltics and helps transform the function into a best-in-class professional procurement organisation in terms of performance, processes, support and reliability. The Procurement Country Head actively manages all local spend categories and ensures alignment with regional and global category strategies and effectively implements these in Bulgaria.
 
Location: based in Sofia or Dupnitsa, with frequent travelling to Dupnitsa

 

Main Responsibilities

 

•    Identify best-in class solutions to optimize costs on site and support local functions to optimize cost-base
•    Generate and deliver ongoing value through savings and to ensure the supply of goods & services to the sites
•    Ensure the stability and security of supply in line with current and future business needs at the lowest total cost
•    Provide effective management of all specialists and managers in Bulgaria Procurement team
•    Effective management of all categories, driving ongoing value, continuous improvement and complying with global procurement policies and processes.
•    Accountable for all procurement savings goals on site in Manufacturing Goods & Services and Direct Spend Areas
•    Accountable for all procurement spend at the site that is not captured by global category team including CAPEX, Operational and non-Operational spend on goods and services and ensure that spend is in-line with budget
•    Manage the relationship with all business stakeholders on the sites and offices, with very close relationship with Supply Chain, Commercials, Finance, Site General Managers, Engineering, Maintenance, R&D, Quality Control and other relevant areas like Global Procurement Regional and Category Teams
•    Represent Procurement in local management meetings and will cooperate with regional team in the implementation of regional / global initiatives and projects
•    Support implementation of global Procurement initiatives and projects, policies, representing Global Procurement organization on sites and supporting the implementation of key global initiatives on sites
•    Ensure Procurement compliance at site level in line with local requirements (HR, EHS, Procurement Policy, Legal compliance, Code of Conduct, Anti-Bribery, etc.)

 

Main Requirements

 

•    Degree in science, engineering, economics or equivalent as well as a Professional Certification in Procurement e.g. CIPS or equivalent
•    Significant professional Procurement experience, preferably in the Pharmaceutical Industry
•    Broad portfolio of Procurement experience in the areas of Manufacturing and Direct Materials Pharma manufacturing activity desirable
•    Leadership experience and capabilities, proven ability to lead and motivate a team of professional procurement staff
•    Proven ability to deliver on-going value through savings and improved services
•    Solid understanding of procurement best practices as well as international business and contract law
•    Excellent stakeholder management and change management skills
•    Strategic thinking, strong interpersonal skills including cross-functional teamwork in a multicultural environment
•    Strong negotiation and excellent written and oral communication skills
•    Exceptional analytical skills paired with the ability to draw strategic insights from analysis and effectively summarize and present proposals for implementation
•    Ability to quantify financial benefits for identified opportunities and initiatives
•    Fluency in Bulgarian and English
•    MS office skills (e.g. Excel and Power Point)
