Job Purpose



Ensure and continuously improve a sustainable EHS culture to ensure employee Safety & Health and to protect the Environment, in order to enable compliant, safe and competitive operations and business effectiveness within mainly SMSO (Solids Manufacturing & Supply Operations) Debrecen and partially AMSO (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients Manufacturing & Supply Operations) Debrecen and Sajóbábony sites. Each activities should be done in collaboration with AMSO Business Partner. 

Main Responsibilities & Deliverables


  • Coordinate EHS Regulatory Compliance: coordinate activities to ensure compliance with all applicable legal and TEVA EHS requirements. Oversee the development delivery and delivery of corrective and preventative actions. Special focus on fire safety and industrial hygiene. 
  • Assess and Mitigate Risks: Identify EHS risks and define proactive mitigations. Organize that site investment and changes in processes, equipment and systems are carried out in accordance with the concepts of EHS by design and relevant EHS requirements and cGMP.
  • Design and Implement Annual EHS Plan: In collaboration with SMSO leadership team coordinate, implement, monitor and update the site EHS plan.
  • Monitor, Analyze and Share EHS Information and KPIs: Provide necessary information and data to SMSO leadership team and supervisors, Global EHS and other internal and external stakeholders, in order to support the achievement of EHS objectives and enhance Teva’s reputation.
  • Promote a Sustainable EHS Culture: Ensure and continuously improve an EHS culture throughout SMSO that inspires a proactive attitude and a firm belief that ‘target zero’ is achievable. Create a space where people can speak openly and are encouraged to present new ideas about EHS stewardship.
  • Provide Training: Develop and implement training programs to be align with legislation and TEVA EHS requirements. 
  • Drive Continuous EHS Improvement: continuously improve EHS processes using Operational Excellence / LEAN principles and visible leadership to achieve 'target zero' goals and to enable compliant, competitive operations and business effectiveness.
  • Audit program: coordinate and manage EHS audits and inspections to prove compliance with legislation, TEVA Global and customer’s EHS requirements (e.g. fire safety insurance audits, permit to work inspections, internal EHS audits, Global EHS audits, customers audit with EHS specialization, etc.)
  • Lead a group of Site EHS Team: implement managerial practices to ensure the EHS team’s high performance in collaboration with AMSO Business Partner.
  • SMSO Leadership Team Member: Serve as an influential member of the SMSO leadership team, who impacts decision making and takes an active role in promoting cross-site initiatives, team work and collaboration across the functions.
  • Member of the Global Network & Professional Community of SMSO: Bring global best practices into the sites and actively share the site perspective, knowledge and lessons learned to contribute and support a best-in-class professional level of EHS globally.
  • Sustainability and competitiveness: drive projects to reduce environmental footprint and related expenses in order to increase competitiveness on a sustainable way. 

Profile requirements


Qualifications: Master's Degree in Engineering or related sciences. 
Advantage: degree in fire safety/safety/industrial hygiene/ergonomics/environment/process safety or their professional certifications.
Professional and leadership experience:
•    +5 years professional fire safety, industrial safety experience
•    Significant practical experience with site EHS programs, or have implemented, or ran other programs in a highly regulated environment, i.e. Production/ Quality/ Engineering. 
•    Practical experience of performing complex risk assessments and knowledge of applicable regulations relating to upper tier SEVESO facilities. 
•    3+ years people management experience in a manager role, to include experience with Management Systems such as ISO 9001; ISO 14001; OHSAS 18001.
•    Knowledge of EHS best practices. International experience is an advantage. 
•    Demonstrates knowledge of local current and upcoming legislation. Demonstrates trusted and proactive relationships with regulatory agencies. 
•    Knowledge of cGMP requirements for products, processes and systems. Customer focus and ability to adjust plans to the changing needs of customers. 
•    Basic knowledge of OPEX / LEAN principles and tools. 
•    Proficiency in Hungarian and English is essential. 
•    Demonstrable ability to work effectively in a matrix environment. 
•    3+ years professional experience regarding contractor management and high risk work authorization (including LOTO program development)
