The opportunity
The DEA Compliance Analyst is responsible for completing records and reports related to the receipt, storage, processing, handling, distribution and reconciliation of controlled substances. DEA Compliance Analysts assist with investigations and may perform duties required in support of Anti-Diversion initiatives. Other responsibilities include working closely with multiple departments within the organization for controlled substance projects and to minimize risks associated with diversion.
How you’ll spend your day
- Responsible to ensure compliance with 21 CFR 1300 during the storage and distribution of controlled substances through the completion of records and reports including DEA-222 Forms, ARCOS Reports, Biennial Inventories, and Year End Reports in accordance with federal & state regulations, and corporate standard operating procedures.
- Ensure appropriate DEA records and reports are accurately completed and filed in accordance with DEA regulations and State requirements.
- Initiates and performs DEA training and provides corporate DEA support to other departments.
- Facilitates the collection, labeling, auditing, storage, security, transportation and destruction of all controlled substance waste.
- Assists with the organization and reconciliation of biennial inventories
- Assists with investigations for the loss or theft of controlled substances as necessary.
- Draft, reviews and revises DEA-related SOPs as directed by management.
- Conducts random audits and review of controlled substance inventories as directed by management.
Your experience and qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- 1 year experience in a pharmaceutical environment or combination of equivalent education and experience
- Knowledge and experience with DEA Compliance/controlled substances
- General knowledge of Teva organization
- Must demonstrate effective written and oral communications skills.
- Demonstrates ability to prepare timely, accurate, detailed and concise reports as requested.
- Strong competency with Microsoft Excel
- Strong Mathematical Skills
- Strong Problem solving/critical thinking skills
