The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced General Manager Teva France capable of providing leadership, direction and vision with the aptitude to drive commercial growth and excellence, as the company looks to grow its innovative medicines business in Europe. This position will report to the SVP, Commercial Lead for South & East Europe and will be responsible for managing a team of over 200 FTEs.
This position will collaborate with Functional Heads (HR, Finance, Legal...) to ensure co-accountability of functional FTEs and P&L. With a responsibility for net sales of ~USD 500 million the successful incumbent will translate Teva EU strategy into local priorities. In addition, this critical role will lead the local Commercial Management Teams and Pivotal talent to ensure the right capabilities are in place to optimally execute strategy and tactical plans.
How you’ll spend your day
Strategic Leadership:
- Defining the French affiliate's long-term vision aligned with the Teva Pivot to Growth Strategy
- Developing and implementing clear and compelling local strategies / tactics (commercial, financial, operational, market access, pricing/reimbursement, CSR, etc.) to transform the company into a high-performing biopharmaceutical enterprise
- Establish a strong corporate culture based on integrity, ethics, innovation, and performance; represent the company to stakeholders: customers, partners, institutions, media, public administration, government agencies, and professional unions
Financial Management & Execution:
- Develop commercial plans designed to optimize overall business performance and financial results (e.g. AOP and LRP)
- Ensure effective financial management, budgeting, and forecasting to achieve revenue and profitability targets
Commercial Operations:
- Engage with Gx, Ix and Supply Chain teams to align and execute portfolio optimization, CSL improvements and best in class market access and launches
Market Presence
- Act as the subsidiary's ambassador at the national and local levels; participate in strategic negotiations, social security finance laws, partnerships, mergers/acquisitions; monitor market developments, competition, and industry trends.
Talent Management & Capabilities:
- Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing and diverse team
- Lead and develop existing leadership assets to enhance the capabilities of the management team
Regulatory Compliance & Ethical Leadership:
- Foster the “Tone from the Top” for our ethical behaviour, integrity, compliance standards and policies
Your experience and qualifications
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in a commercial leadership role (experience with managing P&L is preferred)
- A master's degree in life or medical sciences, business or equivalent is preferred.
Experience:
- Possess general management/strong commercial expertise with the ability to strategize and execute
- Track record of successful achievements and progression
- Demonstrated success in working in a complex, fast-paced matrix environment in a multi-national company, experience in pharmaceuticals industry is required
- Successfully applied business acumen, spanning multiple functions and a track record of driving innovation and growth
- Experience creating and executing strategic plans
- Great understanding of financials (P&L, accruals, balance sheet, capital investment, forecasting and supply chain)
- Ability to effectively communicate strategies and decisions
- Demonstrate outstanding leadership capabilities, building an inclusive and diverse working environment
- Experience with building/managing high performing teams and shows strong capability of managing and decision making in matrix environment
- Experience with leading people through organizational transformation/change, building talent and developing organizational capabilities
Additional Welcome Assets
- Knowledge of the French market for generic, hybrid, and substitutable biosimilar drugs
- Successful launches of innovative specialty drugs
- Proficiency in drug regulation policy in France
- French language proficiency and knowledge of French commercial and labor market regulations
