Overview
As a process engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing process strategies, optimizing current processes, testing and monitoring equipment, maintaining process documents and implementing cost reduction projects. This position will also use safe, data driven solutions to help achieve the businesses objectives.
Essential Duties
- Conducting tests and monitoring the process performance throughout facilities, production and packaging areas
- Assist in troubleshooting problems associated with manufacturing and packaging processes
- Monitor and control plant processes and systems to achieve manufacturing excellence, utility optimization, and maximize equipment availability.
- Maintain ownership and accountability for plant piping and instrument diagrams, including steam, compressed air, nitrogen and purified water system.
- Monitor equipment performance on a regular basis. Perform efficiency checks for key equipment and present solutions to any identified bottlenecks or performance issues.
- Evaluate processes and perform risk assessments to identify cost reduction and/or equipment availability improvements.
- Document current maintenance processes and assist with tribal knowledge transfer.
- Ability to work closely with several disciplines within the company such as manufacturing and production personnel, engineering, management, and finance.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Attention to detail is essential with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to apply Engineering principles in practical application with strong analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational and computer skills.
- Strong written communication skills to effectively communicate through all levels of the organization
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Takes accountability for key result areas, achieves results and continuously seeks to improve standards
- Continually challenges the way things have been done and seeks best practices when developing solutions or overcoming issues
- Communicates openly, honestly and in a professional manner; presents ideas in a clear, concise and organized manner (both verbally & in written form)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering required
- Years of experience – 1-7 years
- Prior experience in FDA regulated environment a plus
- Knowledge on cGMP preferred
- Reliability experience preferred
