For this Engineering Maintenance Technician III role, experience with HVAC and Boiler systems essential. In addition this role is responsible for improving, repairing, diagnosing/troubleshooting, and general maintenance (proactive/preventive/reactive) of the facility’s manufacturing area which includes small repairs and adjustments to plant utilities such as, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, RTUs, AHUs, DEHs units, and the building automation system (BAS) through the application of your mechanical and electrical expertise, education, and experience. Knowledge of mechanical/electrical/controls, servicing requirements, and spare parts requirements is essential.
How You’ll Spend Your Day
- Perform critical systems operation duties, troubleshoot equipment, and process problems with the ability to resolve quickly and correctly. Expedite repair through hands-on and allocating the department's physical and personnel resources including contractors.
- Execute the installation, preventive maintenance, emergency repairs and modifications/upgrades of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems related to facility systems. Assist and consult other technicians on technical issues used in troubleshooting equipment.
- Ensure cGMP guidelines, safety procedures, and SOP's are followed at all times
- Maintain a 5S/clean work area in all facility/mechanical rooms adhering to all housekeeping regulations
- Train and instruct, per SOP's and related documents, technicians in the maintenance and operation of equipment and all other job functions within assigned areas under the guidance of Maintenance management
- Effectively work with the maintenance organization and maintenance management on a day-to-day basis while being able to shift priorities at any given moment
- Effectively communicate with groups outside of maintenance, such as production, quality and logistic teams
- Complete logbooks, PM's, and work orders and ensure all entries are complete, accurate, and correct
- Assist maintenance management with recommendations pertaining to equipment upgrades, maintenance, enhancements, analysis of operation parameters of equipment and processes, and other requirements to support manufacturing operations
- Support smooth execution of projects within facility areas and ensure that all systems maintain their validated state
- Support the implementation of change controls and support the investigations related to the equipment and systems including root cause analysis investigations
Responsible for completing all training requirements and maintaining compliance with all assignments
Your Skills and Experience
Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.
- High school/GED education or equivalent experience required.
- At least 5 years of mechanical maintenance and piping installation / repair experience required.
- Experience replacing valves, steam traps, condensate pumps and HVAC coils required.
- Computer skills including: Knowledge of Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook required
- Effective oral/written communication skills in English with the ability to interface with all levels of personnel
- Ability to lift loads up to 50 lbs.
- Able to perform routine repairs to HVAC equipment and monitor Building Automation systems, making adjustments, as needed.
Also Good to Have
Education
- A.A. or A.S. degree or vocational courses in areas such as welding, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, industrial, technical, or control systems preferred.
Experience and Skills
- Experience troubleshooting steam traps preferred.
- Some experience with Boiler systems, Stability Chambers, DX Cooling units preferred. Experience with Liebert unit a plus.
- Knowledge of cGMPs, change control processes, FDA-regulated industry documentation practices, computer maintenance management systems (e.g., CMMS/EAM, etc.)preferred.
