The opportunity
This Co-Op position would be assigned to the Engineering group working with Project Engineers in designing, procuring, implementing, and commissioning/qualifying process equipment and facility utilities in a FDA regulated cGMP pharmaceutical/medical device manufacturing plant. This individual will work with cross functional teams such as R&D, MS&T, Operations, and Quality in launching women’s hormonal products improving patient’s health.
How you’ll spend your day
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Work closely with the engineering staff to become familiarized with applicable codes and standards in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
• Design, develop, implement and commission on manufacturing process, equipment, facility and supporting utilities with the engineering team.
• Present project proposal, justification, timeline and status to cross-functional teams and site management.
• Work with external vendors to implement new engineering projects
• Identify and develop solutions to improving existing manufacturing process.
• Develop standards and SOPs under engineer’s guidance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and participate on teams to understand current and future states for better quality, safety, compliance, and efficiency outcomes.
Your experience and qualifications
Successful applicants will have the following credentials and attributes:
• Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program preferably pursuing a chemical, mechanical, or biomedical engineering degree (other majors will be considered)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills will be required to engage with other departments within the site.
• Strong time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Visio, Project)
• Works independently and receives minimal guidance.
This is a full-time Co-Op position. There is one Engineering position available for the Summer 2025 semester. Housing subsidy is not provided as part of this program and must be funded 100% by the student.
