Job Description

Primary purpose and function of this position
The ITSM Platform Test Engineer will take responsibility over ITSM Service Now platform; will be in charge of delivery quality and automated testing strategy to ensure rapid releases without compromising quality. Aware of domain best practices in the industry, ensures the quality of configurations and customizations to the platform. Will be responsible for for the security, quality, and coverage of developed test scripts. Incorporate innovative ideas and approaches to test development and product quality.
Major duties and responsibilities
• General support and maintenance of ServiceNow platform and associated applications.
• Collaborate with team members to develop effective strategies and test plans
• Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results
• Create and execute automated tests using Service Now's automated test framework (ATF)
• Create and execute test scenarios based on business requirements or user stories, architectural requirements.
• Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
• Evaluate product code according to specifications
• Maintain logs to document testing phases and defects
• Report bugs and errors to development teams
• Help troubleshoot issues
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
• Identify, train and communicate best practices related to ServiceNow development and usage
• Packages coding changes for releases and migrates code and configuration changes between applicable environments, e.g., development, test, and production
• Perform root cause analysis and remediation for integration, system, reporting, and data issues
• Work directly with end users to resolve support issues within ServiceNow.
• Create supporting system documentation
• Create ServiceNow reports and dashboards
• Participate in in platform upgrades and validation processes.
• Ensure that user feedback is incorporated into completed documents for future revisions. 
• Provide testing effort estimation at project level.
• Provide ideas to optimize the existing automation code (test coverage & efficiency).
• Manage test cases, defects, test runs and generate project level reporting.
• Update and maintain product documentation.
• Escalate issues and impediments in a timely manner.
• Maintain test metrics.



Education and Knowledge Requirements

  • 3+ years ServiceNow administration in an enterprise environment.
  • ServiceNow certified
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus
  • Must be technically savvy and able to design and build applications that meet business goals and objectives
  • Proven experience in testing and supporting a web architected, n-tiered enterprise applications.
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred​ 

Skills and Capabilities

  • Ability to identify the test scenarios to be automated and good understanding of common test automation patterns.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Understanding of ServiceNow application architecture.
  • ServiceNow administration experience preferred.
  • Creating and executing manual and automated tests.
  • Quality assurance principles.
  • UAT coordination
  • Self-driven, results oriented and someone who takes ownership
  • Must have solid interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders to understand, propose, and deliver solutions
  • Must be self-motivated and able to adapt to new technologies and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
