We would like to invite applications for the role of Engineering Team Leader to join us in our Ridings Point (Castleford) head office and Distribution Centre.

A day in the life of an Engineering Team Leader...

  • You will be responsible for leading activities supporting facilities and equipment maintenance by ensuring the technicians and contractors have the tools, resources and training needed to support the Ridings Point facility and utilities.
  • You will lead the proactive and reactive maintenance within the Ridings point distribution centre. 
  • You will be Team leader of x3 technicians and manage ROTA / Technicians holiday planning and approval
  • You will plan and ensure completion of workload for self and technicians
  • You will be key user for CMMS system and weekly planner; key user for Ariba / SAP to raise facilities PO’s across Ridings Point and Harlow
  • You will be first point of escalation for breakdowns across the Distribution centre
  • You will plan and organise contractor work on site following annual compliance and maintenance planner, being the point of contact for contractors and main Permit issuer for all activity on site. You will also conduct contractor inductions when they are either expired or new to site and conduct annual contractor / supplier review
  • You will plan and execute follow up work from statutory inspectios
  • You will ensure timely completion of critical calibration tasks
  • You will drive a positive safety and compliance culture
  • You will manage spare part ordering and stock level
  • You will liaise with commercial quality and support implementation of change controls
  • You will lead RCA and accident investigations
  • You will be SOP author for facilities team across Ridings point and Harlow
  • You will maintain 5’s standards of facilities owned areas
  • You will attend site meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders – site staff / Ops / H and S / contractors
  • You will identify new suppliers and service providers that can add value to the site through a better or different service.
  • You will ensure email alerts for critical systems are monitored and reacted to in timely manner (Building management and Environmental management systems as well as server rooms)
  • You will lead annual reviews of all facilities RA’s and COSHH assessments
  • You will do holiday cover when x1 technician is on holiday as well as point of contact for Facilities when Technical manager on holiday

Who we are looking for...

Do you have...?

  • Recognised electrical apprenticeship or Engineering degree / technician with electrical background 
  • IOSH managing safely
  • Working knowledge of PUWER / LOLER
  • Experience managing a team of technicians (nice to have) or be ready to step-up
  • Experience in managing contractors and suppliers
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • IPAF (3a & 3b)
  • Budgetary understanding (Repair & Maintenance)


Are you...?

  • Certified to 18th Edition BS 7671 (a must)
  • Able to manage stakeholders effectively
  • Effective communicator
  • Computer literate – Microsoft packages / CMMS and CAFM / AutoCad
