Job Description

Impact:
Around 200 million people worldwide take one of our medicines every day. In the United States, where Teva is the leading generic pharmaceutical company, one out of every nine prescriptions is filled by a Teva product. In the both the UK and Canada, it is one out of every six.  In addition, many prescription medications made by other companies include active pharmaceutical ingredients produced by Teva.

 

In your new position, you will be reporting to the Senior Director - Head of Digital Health Platform, GM&P Technology. The software developer role will work with our team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation of the Teva’s Digital Health Platform, a cloud backend service.

You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. We are heavily invested in automation testing, and as such all developers are expected to write and maintain unit test coverage. In addition to new feature development, developers are also tasked with bug fixes and continuous improvement of the platform through the adoption of new technologies.

 


Requirements and Expertise:

  • Work very closely with Digital health Technical Product Owner to develop, as applicable backend systems according to specifications and following quality procedures.
  • Perform code reviews and attend daily development stand ups.
  • Develop the system based on requirements and provide estimates on the level of effort.
  • Work independently towards a solution.
  • Demo work developed during a sprint, and own developed features for the life of the product.   

 

 

Qualifications

Education and experience:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other relevant experience.
  • 5 years of programming languages and frameworks such as TypeScript, NodeJS, and Serverless Framework experience

 

Programming experience:

  • Programming languages and frameworks such as TypeScript, NodeJS, and Serverless Framework.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks like Mocha and microservice architecture and design patterns
  • Proficient experience with NoSQL database technologies like MongoDB and DynamoDB along with relational databases and SQL such as MySQL
  • Demonstrated experience with large scale distributed backend systems


Areas of expertise:

  • Knowledge of REST design best practices
  • Experience with working on an agile team and any healthcare exchange protocol like HL7 / FHIR a plus.
  • Experience with EMR / EHR integration a plus and CI/CD a plus
