Job Description

The Associate Director, Mobile Software Development Manager is responsible for software development of our Digital Health mobile applications on iOS and Android. They will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to define, design, release, troubleshoot, and support mobile applications used by real patients and caregivers, taking into consideration performance, privacy, security, and architecture. We are heavily invested in automation testing, and as such all developers are also expected to write and maintain unit test coverage. In addition to new feature development, developers are also tasked with bug fixes and continuous improvement of the platform through the adoption of new technologies.

 

The candidate will manage a team and work with other developers on architectural and technical decisions, with product managers to help define functionality, with designers to implement concepts, with project managers on timelines and estimates, and with the testing organization for quality assurance. The candidate will also be responsible for implementing and following development processes that comply with medical and privacy regulations while enabling the team to work efficiently. The role is broad and pivotal and therefore it will be essential to form a strong partnership with the other teams within the Teva Digital Health organization. Teva Digital Health is accountable for the complete lifecycle of products, from ideation through product development to product support.

 

This position reports directly to the Vice President of Digital Health. Key activities include, but are not limited to:

1.    Manage Mobile App Development team, including direct reports and vendors

2.    Lead and support team to:

  • Review and curate the team’s backlog
  • Ensure timely communication
  • Remove barriers and escalate issues as needed
  • Anticipate future product needs / strategy and define success
  • Review and act on feedback and feature requests
  • Set growth and career development plans for direct reports

3.    Develop and launch Digital Health iOS and Android applications which will be used by patients and caregivers

  • Work closely with the testing team to improve test infrastructure, and write unit and functional tests
  • Perform effort estimates, code reviews, and attend daily development standups
  • Clearly document features and infrastructure
  • Demo work developed during a sprint, and own developed features for the life cycle of the product

4.    Analyze tech stacks utilized within the organization and develop steps and processes to improve and expand upon them

5.    Mentor and train other engineers throughout the company and seek to continually improve processes companywide
 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • BSc./B.Eng. or higher, or related degree in a relevant field
  • A minimum of 8 years in Software Engineering or related engineering roles
  • Experience with mobile app development on both Android and iOS platforms
  • Experience with Flutter and Dart, and native iOS and Android development
  • Experience with Bluetooth development
  • Experience with backend systems and integrating with 3rd party RESTful APIs
  • Experience with troubleshooting and resolving issues in production environments
  • Experience with version control tools (git), CI/CD tools, and unit/functional automated testing
  • Experience working together with teams from several departments to facilitate the orderly execution of a proposed project plan
  • Experience with various operating systems – Linux, Windows, MacOS

 

Additional Education and Experience Preferred:

  • MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience working in regulated environments such as medical devices or pharmaceuticals
  • Experience with developing enterprise products that are scalable / reliable / secure

 

Business Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to combine user requirements, technology, and commercial considerations into a plan
  • Excellent communications skills (written and oral) and the ability to clearly document features and technical and infrastructure requirements
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent products
