The opportunity
The Procurement Business Partner is leading Stakeholder Management for the respective Country Organization and complex Sourcing and Consolidation Projects for specific categories. Based on specific guidance of the Regional Procurement Head Americas the scope of the role can be expanded either geographically for Stakeholder Management (1+n Countries) or through a regional scope of sourcing projects. The role cooperates within the procurement matrix organization with Category Management and Sourcing Operations and is part of the Regional Procurement Americas Team.
Driving the strategic procurement vision for Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay, Stakeholder Management and representing Procurement at the relevant Leadership Teams are key responsibilities of the role. In addition, the Business Partner will strive to generate and deliver ongoing commercial value through RFPs, eAuctions as well as negotiations (price, working capital) and ensures security of supply in line with current and future business needs at competitive total cost. The role is responsible to ensure maximum value is being driven from the supply base supporting operations in the region and driving compliance with the Global Procurement framework with its policies, systems and processes.
The role aligns with relevant Stakeholders as well as Teva´s strategical and financial goals to help develop and ensure delivery of all relevant category strategies and functional solutions within the region. The role generates year-over-year savings via Total Cost of Ownership approach (TCO) and achieving the working capital improvements (payment terms) to create free cash flow.
How you’ll spend your day
- Acting as the local Procurement Business Partner to Argentina, Brazil & Uruguay for all Procurement topics
- Change Management throughout transformation of Procurement function to new ways of working
- Driving effective issue resolution of escalations in all local categories
- Partnership with key stakeholders in the region including Commercial GMs, site GM and leaders of Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering & MS&T functions
- Act as a strategic partner to lead complex sourcing events and achieve savings and working capital improvements
- Supports the development and implementation of global category strategies
- SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) with critical 3rd parties in region
- Consolidate local spend to ‘globally managed suppliers’ by identifying supply base reduction opportunities and undertaking necessary actions
- Conduct price negotiations and manage supplier agreements including Master Services Agreements (MSAs), scopes of work (SOWs) and others as needed
- Work closely with Global Category Managers and Regional Procurement Hubs to influence procurement strategies ensuring they appropriately meet local needs and drive maximum benefit
- Achieve annual goals and objectives as set by Procurement Leadership and direct manager
- Assure compliance with Procurement Policy and all company policies (HR, EHS, legal compliance, Code of Conduct, etc.). Influence evolution of the procurement policy and other procurement processes in the best interest of Teva. Drive compliance in all we do.
Your experience and qualifications
- University Degree in Business / Economics / Sciences / Engineering
- MBA preferred
- Procurement experience: 5-7 years of professional procurement experience within global organization, indirect spend focus
- Pharma industry experience: 2+ years preferred
- Languages: Spanish and proficiency in spoken and written English. Portuguese preferred.
- Professional certification in purchasing or supply chain is desirable, e.g. from ISM (CPSM, CSM, CPM), from APICS (CPIM, CIRM), from EPIM, etc.
- Understanding contract laws needed
- Strong interpersonal skills including cross-functional teamwork
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Solid understanding of procurement best practices
- Strong negotiation skills, exceptional analytical skills, strong multi-cultural skills, high energy level, and a bias towards action
- Excellent communication and networking skills with the ability to translate strategic vision into tactical plans and manage the change required to execute
- Ability to collaborate and influence with stakeholders, teams and colleagues
- Ability to draw strategic insights from analysis and effectively summarize and present insights
- Ability to model and quantify financial benefits for identified opportunities and initiatives
- MS office skilled (e.g., excel and power point)
- Excellent change management.
