About the Role

 

As the Chief Accountant, you will oversee all accounting operations for two local entities within a matrix organization. You will coordinate a small team (2 direct reports), ensure the timely and accurate delivery of statutory and group reporting, and act as a key liaison between the Romanian operations, Shared Services, and Corporate Finance.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and coordinate the Accounting department and daily operational activities.
  • Monitor, verify, and validate all accounting and fiscal documents prepared or received by the company.
  • Prepare and submit: 
    • Monthly trial balance
    • Financial statements
    • Monthly fiscal statements
    • Group financial reports and other required periodic submissions
  • Manage internal and external audit processes and ensure complete audit readiness.
  • Maintain strong relationships with public authorities and manage interactions during inspections or controls.
  • Monitor payments, collections, cash flow, and banking activities.
  • Collaborate closely with Shared Services supporting the Romanian entities.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Finance and other global stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile

 

Must-have skills

  • Deep and up to date knowledge of Romanian accounting and fiscal legislation. 
  • Strong SAP knowledge.
  • Very good Excel skills.
  • Fluent English.

 

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in a pharmaceutical company.
  • CECCAR qualification.
  • Previous people management experience.
