The role leads the compliance and ethics function for India, overseeing a local team and partnering with business units. It’s essential for maintaining a strong compliance environment, supporting Teva’s growth and expansion in India, and instilling confidence in stakeholders.
How You’ll Spend Your Day
- Acting as the head of the Teva compliance program and personnel operating in India,
- Managing a 4 member India based compliance team.
- Working with global functions to continually evaluate compliance needs and ensure support for each function. The Compliance program also includes:
- Compliance committees
- Due diligence committees
- Liaison roles
- Serving as the senior Compliance & Ethics business partner to Teva’s various functions and leaders in India – both coaching and educating to create and sustain a culture of integrity
- Overseeing major program components of policies & procedures, approvals & controls, monitoring program, risk assessment processes, third party management, and all training & communications and programs to ensure the appropriate Leadership Tone within India.
- Acting as the senior point of interface with key functions and primary point of local escalation.
- Driving the Compliance program to achieve Teva’s target culture in India.
- Providing reports on a regular basis to inform senior management of the state of compliance in India.
- Escalation of issues that pose potential risk to the Company
- Modeling exemplary levels of professionalism, leadership and values
Your Skills and Experience
- Scientific/technical, healthcare, or business Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, and ideally Masters, JD, PHD or similar.
- 15+ years Pharmaceutical or related industry experience.
- 10+ years of Compliance and Ethics experience.
- Ability to work effectively with very senior executives and multiple business stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels in the organization.
- Proven ability to lead teams and work in a matrix environment.
- Sound judgement in high stake scenarios and the ability to escalate matters efficiently and appropriately to global leadership
- Comfort and courage in taking difficult decisions that are best for Teva.
- Global experience and exposure to both working both within and outside of India
- Excellent leadership and written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Ability to problem solve in challenging and/or ambiguous situations.
- Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated success in partnering with the multiple functions and organizations.
