The opportunity

The Sr. Monitoring Engineer is responsible for configuring and administering monitoring tools such as SiteScope, System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), APM, SolarWinds, and Operations Bridge Manager (OBM). The role also involves integrating alerting with the ServiceNow platform and providing technical and functional guidance on platform integration matters.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in communicating with technical and non-technical users and stakeholders, as well as establishing a cooperative relationship that delivers the best fit the unique needs of their business

How you’ll spend your day

•    Participating in scoping monitoring requirements and deliverables with Tech Teams.
•    Architecting interfaces, identifying any automation and ensure it is implemented by the Automation team.
•    Design technical architecture solutioning at an enterprise level.
•    Lead and Coordinate with the infra Engineering team to deliver a cohesive solution.
•    Creating documentation and reporting based on specific customer needs.
•    Managing quality of service throughout project and upon completion
•    Communicating issues and risks to appropriate team members
•    Multitasking on more than one project when necessary
•    SCOM and Sitescope architecture like Deployments, Upgrades and Administration.

Your experience and qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE - REQUIRED
•    Bachelor’s in computer science or information technology or Bachelor’s degree 
•    Experience 8+ years’ experience of SiteScope, SCOM or similar Infra Monitoring tools 
•    Must have at least 1-3 Infra monitoring tool Implementation experience. 
•    Must have hands on experience on implementing all SiteScope templates. 
•    Experience in ServiceNow Integration from SCOM and SiteScope standpoint 
•    Candidate should have strong Infrastructure monitoring knowledge with below skills.

o    Metrics, Trace and Log collection
o    SNMP, Traps and Syslog collection
o    Performance Monitor for Windows and Linux computers
o    RIM (Remote Infrastructure Management)
o    ITIL
o    Experience leading implementations with SiteScope and SCOM
o    Alert Correlation and noise reduction
o    Alert Action automation with Service Now / third party tools
o    Scripting knowledge for custom monitor creation – PowerShell and Shell
o    Good knowledge on usage of Rest API methods


•    Strong familiarity with 
o    Windows and Linux Servers
o    Storage and Backup products
o    VCenters and VDIs
o    WMI, NetBIOS, SNMP 
o    Network Devices like Routers, Switches, Firewalls and SD-WAN
o    Cloud Monitoring (Azure particularly)
o    ICMP, SNMP and OID protocols
o    Scripting Knowledge

•Working knowledge of project methodologies including Agile
•Working knowledge of all datacenter devices
•Ability to clearly communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
•Excellent testing and debugging skills Strong history of problem solving.
•Working knowledge of common ServiceNow applications and ecosystem
•Working knowledge of Web Services and other integrations
