Job Description


  • Lead evidence creation through HEOR scientific studies, including large-scale real-world evidence (RWE) studies and health economic analyses.
  • Interface with GHEOR and epi leads and other cross functional colleagues to plan work needed for optimal execution of team deliverables
  • Develop strategy to identify and employ data science techniques on structured and unstructured data sets.
  • To work closely with RWE stats group to perform descriptive and advanced analyses using large patient and/or claims databases in support of data mining, predictive modeling, and health outcomes research projects
  • Employ and execute programs developed by RWE stats to analyse data for rapid data queries and simple descriptive studies based on protocol
  • Help develop project plans, execute on deliverables within agreed upon timeframes, manage deadlines, communicate progress and make recommendations to address issues.
  • Develop new data visualization methods to convey insight to the risk and health of patients on multiple medications.

Long Description

  • Participate in the implementation and configuration of data visualization software such as Tableau or Looker
  • Author study reports, scientific publications, conference abstracts, and posters
  • Either alone or in partnership GHEOR lead and other scientists, develop/contribute to protocol /study report of real-world database studies
  • Identify variables and records to extract from the available large observational/real-world healthcare databases (e.g. electronic medical records, health insurance claims)
  • Effectively present results from rapid data queries/simple descriptive studies to collaborators
  • Excellent data visualization skills to transform data into insights
  • Contribute to final report, summarizing analytic findings


  • MS or Ph.D. in Public Health, Economics, Epidemiology, Data Science or similar areas of academic training is required.Preferred: Education Master of Health in Data Science; Master of Science in Health Informatics and analytics
  • Passionate about working hands-on with data, and proficient in manipulating large, complex datasets and preparing supporting documentation for quality control (QC)
  • 5+ years of experience using statistical software packages such as SAS, R, Python, and/or STATA
  • 3+ years of SQL programming experience
  • Prior experience with classical Machine Learning Algorithms preferred.
  • Experience applying artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, and emerging technologies
  • Solid foundation in applied mathematics, such as: statistics, linear algebra, optimization.
  • Experience and interest in presenting analytic findings to business customers. Familiar with reporting and visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, Business Objects, etc.
  • Detail oriented, excellent quantitative, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Self-reliant with the ability to deliver robust, timely, high-quality analytics
