The opportunity
As a Senior Manager, EU Data Protection, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and safeguarding personal data within our organization. Your expertise will guide our privacy practices, and you’ll be responsible for advising on legal matters related to data protection, data, and cybersecurity and digital. You will be part of the EU Legal organization, reporting to Senior Director, Digital, Cyber, Data Protection.
How you’ll spend your day
- Act as an internal subject matter expert and provide legal advice on data protection and privacy matters, including GDPR and other relevant privacy and data regulations, to all areas of the business (including Global Legal & Compliance, HR, IT, Digital, Commercial, Audit, R&D, Medical, Quality, and others).
- Liaise with the Teva Legal and Compliance Department to ensure a uniform approach to data protection across Teva.
- Draft, review and maintain various related agreements and documents, such as data processing and data transfer agreements, data privacy notices, and consents.
- Maintain internal data processing and transfer agreements.
- Oversee and conduct Privacy-by-Design activities, also including Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Legitimate Interests Assessments (LIAs), and Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs).
- Execute plans to ensure compliance with data protection laws on both a European and global scale, integrating operational frameworks and protocols.
- Support in responding to individuals’ rights requests and data breach responses.
- Provide data protection and privacy legal advice to all areas of the business (Compliance, HR, IT, Digital, Commercial, Audit, R&D, Medical, Quality, others).
- Assist to identify and address high-risk areas and ensure raising business awareness around applicable laws and regulations through training and day-to-day interactions with both Teva Legal and the business units.
- Stay up to date with changes and trends in data protection law and regulations, in Europe and globally.
Your experience and qualifications
- Formal Education: LL.B., Master of Laws, or equivalent in law; CIPP or similar data protection certification welcomed.
- Previous Legal Experience: Minimum 5 years expected; experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences industries preferred.
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English required; knowledge of other European languages beneficial.
- Personal Skills: Strong team player with excellent communication; adaptable in cross-cultural environments; highly organized and proactive with attention to detail; adept at managing pressure and multiple priorities.
- Strong Business Acumen: Curious and willing to continuously learn and work beyond comfort zone.
