We are currently looking for a Medical Scientific Liaison Officer - Specialty Medicines to join our Medical Affairs department to provide an effective, non-promotional scientific service to healthcare professionals, and to maintain a high level of medical, scientific and technical knowledge and expertise in relation to the Speciality Generics and Oncology therapy areas.


This is a field based role covering the UK (Northern Ireland included). We expect the selected candidate to go to our offices in Harlow or Ridings Point from time to time.


A day in life of a Medical Scientific Liaison Officer...


  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including the ABPI Code of Practice, MHRA regulations, and Teva internal processes and procedures pertaining to Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory legislation
  • Build and maintain scientifically current disease area, product and therapy knowledge across a variety of disease areas including Oncology. Provide scientific and technical support for, and maintain, credible, professional relations with clinicians, local decision-makers, external experts and academic centres
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the structure and workings of the NHS
  • Produce and update scientific presentations for assigned therapy areas
  • Input into the formulary process through provision of the appropriate scientific data
  • Identify and address medical educational activities relating to disease area needs
  • Provide scientific support to assist Medical Information in dealing with enquiries
  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of the competitive environment, ongoing clinical research and publications in the designated disease areas
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with both Medical Information and the Marketing department
  • Attend national & international congresses where required and subsequently disseminate the appropriate information both internally and externally
  • Provide therapy area and product specific training to field based, and office based non-scientific personnel
  • Develop and review promotional and educational materials against the ABPI Code of Practice
  • Respond to unsolicited medical requests from healthcare professionals in line with the ABPI Code of Practice and company policies
  • Develop and educate expert speakers and faculty members, and support medical congress/meeting activities
  • On occasions, to support with clinical investigators and internal approval processes for the approval of relevant studies / product testing




Do you have...?

  • Pharmacy or higher degree qualification (e.g. PhD) in a relevant scientific/medical area
  • Experience of working in, and detailed knowledge of the Speciality generics / Oncology therapy area, or significant experience in similar or other therapeutic areas
  • ABPI certification (desirable)
  • Good presentation skills
  • Solid data analysis and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
