Job Description

 

 

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join CMC Biologics as Senior Associate, Cell Culture Process Development, located at West Chester, PA. The successful candidate will design and execute cell culture and harvest experiments to achieve defined project goals. The individual is required to apply cell culture and process development knowledge to support biologics process development and to evaluate related novel technologies. Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, execution of cell culture process development studies, design of experiments to drive process understanding, and to develop process control strategies for various phases of the drug development life cycle.

 

  • Design and execute experiments for cell culture based biologics process development
  • Perform cell culture process development in shake flasks and bioreactors from bench to pilot scales
  • Perform process development studies in High Throughput systems (e.g. ambr250).
  • Through analytical thinking and application of knowledge gained through formal education and professional experience, solve bioprocessing challenges of moderate difficulty.
  • Ensure effective information flow through summarizing results in written reports and oral presentations.
  • Successful candidate is required to have good time management skills, to meet or exceed project execution timelines.

 

Qualifications

 

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • BS or MS degree in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering/Cell biology or related science
  • Minimum 2 years professional experience in biologics process development
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture.
  • Hands-on experience with bioreactor operation at bench scale and other cell culture related equipment
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and prior experience in matrix environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience of cell culture bioreactors operation.
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques used for product quality assessment.
  • Experienced in process characterization study design and data analysis.
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced high performance team
  • A self-starter, be able to work with minimal supervision in a matrix environment and effectively manage multiple projects
