Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, team-orientated Research Assistant to conduct laboratory based research and development (planning, execution and interpretation) on therapeutic antibody discovery projects at our modern facility in Macquarie Park, Sydney.

The ideal candidate would have hands-on laboratory-based experience in several of the following techniques:

  • General molecular biology  experience such as PCR, DNA purification and analysis, vector design, DNA cloning
  • Culturing and transfection of mammalian cell lines
  • Development and use of biochemical assays for screening antibody and recombinant protein function (e.g. ELISA and other immunoassays or screening technologies)
  • Other essential attributes include attention to detail in following written experimental protocols and record keeping.

 

Experience in these other techniques would be highly desirable:

  • Protein purification and analysis
  • Surface plasmon resonance such as Biacore

Qualifications

A honours degree in life sciences with a molecular biology emphasis
