Job Description

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for all payroll entries, deductions, and payments in assigned areas.  Performs a variety of record keeping and payroll processing activities. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities                                                                           

 

  1. Perform and administer the entire payroll process for US, Puerto Rico and Canada including the preparation, input and review for assigned pay groups.  Update various payroll forms including W-4’s and direct deposits.  Ensure compliance of HR payroll related policies.
  2. Update time keeping system to include new hires, terminations, department & supervisor changes, run periodic & year end audits, complete user access forms, post time to payroll system.
  3.  Initiates, maintains and releases garnishment orders assigned working closely with legal to ensure  compliance standards are met accurately, timely and consistently.  Run garnishment reports and compare against the payroll system statement of payment reports.
  4. Union payables – NJ & MO, enter Third Party Sick Pay – STD/LTD, enter quarterly into payroll system and reconcile, processing of tax payments not processed by payroll system ie; Occupational Tax, NV modified business tax payment and reporting of required states workers comp hours.
  5. Administration of unemployment services ensuring timely response to inquiries ensuring compliance and maintenance/updates of SUI Tax Rates in ADP self-service.
  6. Processing and reconciliation of tax payments not processed by payroll system ie:  NJ Assessments, NV modified business tax payment and various reporting of required states workers comp hours.
  7. Process manual checks as needed.
  8. Monitor Payroll Customer Service emails, iPay resets, mail distribution and other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education Required:      

  • High School diploma or GED

Experience Required:    

  • 2 years of payroll administration in medium to large organization

Experience Preferred:   

  • 2+ years of payroll experience in medium to large organization
  • Associates degree in related field preferred

Specialized or Technical Knowledge Licenses, Certifications needed:        

  • ADP system knowledge
