The opportunity

We are looking for a dynamic leader to join us as the Director of Revenue Optimization & Process Compliance, specializing in US Pharmaceutical contract operations. In this pivotal role, you will lead a newly established and growing team of five, reporting directly to the VP of Revenue Optimization and Contract Compliance (ROCC). The ROCC team handles contract operations (rebates, chargebacks, membership, etc.), government pricing, dispute resolution, and product return management, and is part of the North America Finance team. Your mission will be to enhance ROCC compliance and operational efficiency by centralizing all cross-functional contracting responsibilities within a Center of Excellence (CoE). Your team will focus on revenue optimization (340B claim validation, post-payment audits, etc.) and data, system, and process optimization (revenue management system, contracting master data, metrics, audits, continuous improvement, etc.).

 

Location: This is a hybrid role (3 days/week onsite) based in Parsippany, NJ.

How you’ll spend your day

  • 340B Compliance: Manage Teva’s 340B policies and ensure compliance across the entire product portfolio and all contracted customer segments. Stay up to date on the rapidly changing 340B landscape from both legislative and industry perspectives.
  • System Liaison: Serve as the business owner of the revenue management system (Model N Flex) used for contract administration activities (rebates, chargebacks, membership, etc.). Collaborate with IT and internal contracting teams to address system deficiencies, optimize business processes, and maintain the system roadmap. Lead project management efforts for system enhancements and upgrades.
  • Data Stewardship: Oversee master data (customer, product, sales, etc.) used for contract adjudication. Ensure data contracting needs (attributes, maintenance approach, refresh frequency, accuracy, etc.) are met across all contracted customer segments.
  • SOX Compliance: Act as the SOX liaison, working with the internal SOX team to ensure compliance with SOX controls across all ROCC business processes. Coordinate SOX audits and ensure operational compliance with audit findings.
  • Metrics: Develop and track department metrics, publishing quarterly dashboards. Ensure consistent capturing of operational effectiveness KPIs across all ROCC business functions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Seek opportunities for improvement in contract adjudication processes, leveraging analytics and automation to drive efficiencies and reduce revenue leakage. Promote a continuous improvement mindset across the organization.
  • Post-Payment Audits: Manage post-payment audits using chargeback, rebate, and return data sets. Conduct trend analysis and identify opportunities to increase contract compliance.
  • Policies and Procedures: Oversee policies and procedures (SOPs and work instructions) across all ROCC functions to ensure a consistent approach and process compliance.
  • Special Projects: Lead cross-functional special projects focused on optimizing contract operations, minimizing revenue leakage, and ensuring compliant operations. Utilizing Gen AI technology to automate contract operations. Is an example of the special project.
  • Industry Trends: Stay informed on industry trends and developments in market access and trade contracting, such as 340B, IRA, Serialization, etc.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including finance, legal, account teams, contract development, brand pricing & marketing, and others.
  • Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships, including working with vendors such as Model N and BRG.

Your experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s/MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in contract operations within the biopharma industry, including at least 2 years in leadership roles.
  • Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical competitive landscape (both brand and generic), key industry and customer trends, and relevant government legislation (340B, IRA, etc.).
  • Familiarity with various contracting strategies and customer concession types (rebates, chargebacks) and their impact on Gross to Net.
  • Experience with Model N / Revitas functionality and leading business aspects of large system implementations (requirements, design, testing, business readiness, cutover, hypercare, etc.).
  • Experience with managing 340B biopharmaceutical company’s policies and claim validation.
  • Strong understanding of contracting data and its attributes (customers, products, sales, etc.), as well as key KPIs for the contract operations teams.
  • Proven track record of leading optimization initiatives with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, with strong persuasion skills and the ability to unite different perspectives to achieve common goals.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions based on trends and complex data sets. Ability to quickly embrace new challenges and establish the appropriate path forward.
  • Diplomatic and strategic, comfortable interacting with people across all levels, functions, and cultures, including senior leadership.
