Job Description and Responsibilities

The candidate will be a seasoned finance professional, with sound business judgment, knowledge of pharmaceutical markets, and a proven track record of performance. He/she will be operationally involved, market sensitive, and attuned to the urgency, pace and energy of the organization. He/she will be a professional with proven analytical skills and the ability to lead and grow relationships and help guide the North America Commercial finance teams through processes in the most efficient and effective way.

He/she is able to focus on the most important messages and feels comfortable presenting consolidated results without having all detailed knowledge to leadership teams within finance and business. 

He/she has a good understanding of planning systems and feels the urge to improve systems results by identifying opportunities and developing and implementing the right strategies balancing the time and efforts required vs the expected results.

Contributes to team efforts by successfully performing tasks that have been allocated, keeping everyone informed of progress as well as identifying risks and opportunities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead/support planning processes for North America ($9B business) (LBE, AOP, and LRP)
  • Drive continuous improvement of internal financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Creates and maintains key planning systems and is a key member of global redesign efforts
  • Acts as a bridge between Corporate requirements and local execution
  • Prepare presentations for executive leadership teams
  • Presents consolidated financials to finance teams and business and finance leadership
  • Guides the business finance teams with clear communication of deliverables and timelines
  • Supports the business (finance) teams with requirements gathering, report and KPI development and turns this into standard reporting
  • Support the finance leadership team with performance updates
  • Assist in periodic operating review meetings with key members of leadership, including the preparation and distribution of presentation materials
  • Participate in North America and Global finance initiatives
  • Conduct and support ad-hoc analysis on issues as needed

Qualifications

  • 5 – 7 years’ experience in finance of which at least 3 years in a multinational environment
  • 3 years relevant Pharmaceutical experience
  • Minimum of undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent
  • Solid Accounting background
  • Project management experience (preferred)
  • Experience in implementation of ERP or planning systems is a plus
  • Successful track record in a finance position in an operating company of an international organisation
  • Ability to work well in a fast pace changing environment and deliver under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; sensitive to different cultures and backgrounds, positive attitude and well developed influencing skills
  • Excellent communicator orally as well as written
  • Good process skills to manage and improve complex processes cross functional
  • Ability to build partnerships with all levels of management and cross-functional business partners
  • Hands on mentality and internal customer orientation
  • Knowledge of Hyperion planning and Oracle Financials or SAP FI/CO is a strong plus
