Job Description

The GHEOR RWE and Epidemiology Director is responsible for the development of RWE data infrastructure strategy for the TEVA portfolio at various stages of development; responsible for working with external data partners to procure the data sources for TEVA use; coordinating the database storage platform with internal biometrics and IT colleagues; lead development, coordination, and execution of epidemiology research program at the global level, from early development through life-cycle management to support clinical programs and brand teams. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Provides subject matter expertise, guidance and direction to internal and external stakeholders, including:

Build and lead RWE and Epi capabilities within the GHEOR function

Epidemiologic expertise to the HEOR asset leads into strategic medical plans (global, local, commercial, medical) for all Specialty Medicines products.

Provide epidemioloy-related input and evidence support to Clinical to Medical Affairs teams for the design, planning and conduct of analyses of Phase I-IV clinical trials and observational studies, as well as post-hoc analyses of existing databases and  systematic literature synthesis (meta-analyses, etc). Work closely with GHEOR team members, Medical Affairs colleagues (e.g. Sci Comm), as well as Statisticians and Analysts, to provide scientifically sound, innovative solutions to meet the evidence generation objectives

Ensure resources, personnel, and expertise are appropriately prioritized and deployed to successfully pursue development of strategic data/research partnerships, and partnerships around state of the art analytics.

Keep abreast of the trends in use of big data, interface with technology innovators and innovations, predictive and prescriptive analytics

Collborate with GHEOR colleagues in designing observational studies (Phase I-IV) including study design and execution

Lead studies/programs involving disease epidemiology and outcomes ensuring robust study designs

Provide functional line management and support the development plan to the Epidemiology team member(s)

Setting the priorities for the RWE/Epidemiology activities in line with the business priorities and alignment with senior management and HEOR leadership

Perform critical appraisal and synthesis of relevant epidemiological literature, including support in exploration of new disease areas.

Ensures optimal management of cross-functional projects, identifies potential risks to project objectives, ensure scientific integrity and cost-effective project delivery

Trains the organization, as necessary, on the use, methodology, and communication of RWE data developed for Teva products and use in early program decision making. Maintain awareness of regulatory requirements, initiatives and advances in epidemiology, and real world evidence. Contributes and represents Teva as a RWE expert at external (e.g. ISPOR, ISPE, DEA) conferences.

 

 

Qualifications

In order to be considered for the role you must possess the following:

  • PhD in Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Services Research or a related field with at least 7 years of relevant pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience OR a Master's degree in Health Economics, Epidemiology, or related field, and at least 10 years of relevant pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise with RW data of different variety (data sources, collection methods, etc.)
  • A track record of peer-reviewed scientific publications demonstrating expertise in RWE/Epidemiology
  • Comprehensive knowledge of own core discipline and good working knowledge of health care systems and health technology assessment guidelines and processes in relevant countries.
  • Ability to understand disease space and appropriately plan and deliver GHEOR strategy and studies for specific compounds.  Serves as source of expertise/advice for cross-functional team members.
  • High degree of comfort with ambiguity and change.
  • Ability to anticipate issues/needs and works proactively to address them.
  • Demonstrate distinctive problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Have a solution driven approach in resolving complex problems.
