Job Description

Position Summary

Under minimal supervision, performs microbial limit testing for incoming raw materials.  Perform water testing, microbial identifications, environmental monitoring, growth promotion testing, method development, research and validations.  Document all work performed (i.e. LIMS).  Protocols and report writing/revising SOP’s as per current guidance as needed.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Under supervision conducts validation testing of microbial limit tests for raw materials.  Review Identification results evaluate the impact on the product.
  • Performs microbial limits testing – raw materials, identifications and training other analysts in this testing methodology.  Perform environmental monitoring and identification tests on environmental samples.
  • Uses basic use/application of technical principles, theories and concepts to conduct various laboratory activities including water testing, growth promotion testing and suspension preparation and identifications.
  • Provides support and assists in the evaluation and completion of routine technical tasks and projects.  Keep communications open with all departments. This includes the paperwork review and SOP revisions.
  • Assists in the training other analysts.
  • Properly document (i.e. LIMS) all work performed in laboratory.
  • Follows Teva Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.  Performs other duties as assigned or as business needs require, such as order media, reagents and supplies for the laboratory testing.

Qualifications

Education

B.S. in biology/microbiology, biochemistry, or related life science.

 

Experience

Minimum five-year microbiological services lab experience

 

Physical Requirements

Not allergic to cephalosporins or chemicals found in the lab or production facilities
