Job Description

Under limited supervision, responsible for determining the Master Production Plan with in capacity constraints, generating orders, and working with production schedulers to determine the finite schedule. Assesses and implements ERP complex techniques needed to: plan, schedule, control, measure and evaluate the effectiveness of production operations.  Handles all planning of the production movements through the manufacturing cycle prior to manufacturing beginning including: process flow, equipment capacity and resources.


•    Capable of resolving complex problems or problems where precedent may not exist.
•    Responsible for translating demand/requirements from Market Supply Chain into local requirements to ensure stable supply of material to commercial organization.
•    Responsible for end to end supply of specific product gains from manufacturing sites through commercial release.
•    Develops Production Plan for commercial, non-commercial, R&D and new products. Manages all sku’s related to the Production Plan from sub components through packaged finished goods. 
•    Generates and maintains production orders within in SAP in alignment with the production plans for commercial, validation, and packaging processes.
•    Conducts capacity analyses when generating the production plan to ensure the plan is achievable  Troubleshoots potential capacity issues on an ongoing basis. Analyzes reports and makes recommendations in support of production demands.
•    Responsible for rough cut capacity, balancing production requirements, operation statistics and metrics, root cause analysis and problem solving.
•    Responsible for communication with Multiple sites and Market Supply Chain to coordinate and communicate delivery of production orders.
•    Partners with manufacturing and packaging partners to gain buy in to production plan as well as other key stakeholders within the site.  Must be able to communicate and work well with cross functional partners
•    Communicates with management on production progress. Makes and communicates production plan adjustments as necessary. Provides other support to production and management as required.
•    Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
•    Responsible for completing all training requirements and maintaining 100% compliance with all assignments.   
•    Responsible for maintaining work areas and performing job functions in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Batch Record instructions. 
•    Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.
•    Responsible for performing additional related duties as assigned.


•    Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Industrial Engineering, or other similar field from an accredited college or university, and minimum three (3) to five (5) years of planning experience, preferably in a production environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. APICS CPIM certification preferred.

•    Basic Supply Chain end to end planning knowledge including but not limited to raw material requirements through finished goods distribution
•    Capacity Planning processes and understanding of how to work through both over and under capacity scenarios
•    Manufacturing and packaging processes.
•    Inventory Level management, including but not limited to safety stock setting and backorder/backlog management.
•    SAP ECC and APO experience
•    Organized and detail oriented with strong follow through skills.  Ensures that issues that arise are fully resolved and information populated within the system is as accurate as possible. 
•    Implementing goals, objectives and practices as defined by management for effective, efficient and cost effective management of allocated resources.
•    Analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, recommending and implementing solutions.
•    Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
•    Responding to common inquiries and problems from internal customers and department personnel.
•    Report preparation and presentation.
•    Ability to work on a team or independently with minimal supervision.
•    Complying with department SOP guidelines.
•    Effectively and professionally communicating with all levels of personnel.
•    Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office skills, including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
•    Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other regulatory requirements.
