The Supply Chain Manager role is a key position within the Management Team in Coleraine and will help provide the systems and processes to manage all aspects of direct procurement, inventory & warehouse management, operations scheduling and outbound logistics, as the business expands further

We are currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager based at our Coleraine Site (Nicobrand), as Supply Chain Manager you will be responsible to co-ordinate and control all aspects of materials procurement, inventory management and planning within a niche manufacturing facility.

In addition the Supply Chain Manager will manage the preparation and logistics of all dispatches in accordance with relevant shipping regulations, ensure all related activities are executed in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements and other applicable standards.

The Supply Chain manager will manage all warehousing operations and personnel

 

Key responsibilities:

  • To purchase raw materials from approved sources in a timely way, so as to meet production planning and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Lead and manage the sourcing selection, approval and monitoring of suppliers.
  • To oversee the receipt of raw materials, ensure maintenance of status and resulting allocation to production.                                                            
  • Reconciliation of all stock holdings and real-time reporting of all positions.
  • Generate production planning requirements for finished products based on agreed stock holdings and customer orders/forecasts.
  • Hold the responsibility to act as Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) for all shipments (training provided as necessary).
  • Management and preparation of shipment documentation, including certificates, Safety Data Sheets, labelling, etc in accordance with the appropriate regulations.
  • To liaise with shipping agencies and couriers to facilitate the deliveries of goods from suppliers to site and shipment of finished products to customers.
  • To negotiate competitive prices with transport providers.
  • Lead the transition from inventory management and planning by spreadsheets, through to the implementation of a new MRP system.
  • To maintain and build upon the existing procedures within the materials management and related areas of the business.
  • To undertake all distribution activities in accordance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP).

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Third level education.
  • CIPS qualification (or related qualification).
  • Experience of inventory control and production planning in a manufacturing environment.

     

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of local and international shipping procedures and in particular transportation of dangerous goods would be advantageous
  • Excellent IT skills with previous ERP/MRP experience advantageous.
