Job Description

A new exciting opportunity has arisen for a Director, Late Stage Global Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Europe to join us in Amsterdam. This position functions within the Global HEOR group and will serve as the principal technical and strategic lead for one or more assets across various therapy areas in the Teva portfolio. In this role you will report to the Senior Director, Late Stage Global HEOR.


Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement peri and post launch evidence generation plans that represent evidence needs in the EU, including clinical, economic, and humanistic evidence that inform and contribute to the overall program strategies for one or more assets across key therapy areas in the Teva portfolio.
  • Ensure that EU regional and local post-launch evidence needs are incorporated in and are congruent with Global Medical and Commercial strategies, by acting as a liaison between individual market colleagues and GHEOR, and other global functions.
  • Work closely with relevant market-specific colleagues, lead and execute HTA submissions (including value framework reports or other HEOR relevant deliverables) to appropriately support asset launch(es).
  • Contribute to EU payer value and brand team(s) on specific ways in which the EU evidence generation plan may be improved and optimized to facilitate informed decision making including comparative effectiveness, pricing, reimbursement and market access negotiations. 
  • Represent Teva before relevant EU regional scientific, medical, regulatory, payer, patient and other meetings, when appropriate, with some/minimal oversight by the Sr. Director, Late Stage GHEOR.
  • Explore, request approval for, and implement new concepts that are complex, taking appropriate risks to advance innovative processes and methodologies based on comprehensive business knowledge, e.g. value-based contracts, etc.
  • Keep abreast of the trends in assigned therapeutic areas, HEOR, Pricing, Reimbursement, and Market Access across the EU region and proactively address HEOR strategy changes in collaboration with Global teams in anticipation of these trends. Train and update the organization on these new developments and implications of these to Teva.
  • Manage project budgets and timelines in adherence with Teva compliance requirements. To this end, regularly prepare and update summaries reflecting ongoing or completed deliverables.
  • Collaborate with scientific communications to provide EU HEOR input on scientific platform and develop HEOR-related scientific publications to be presented at conferences, publications, dossiers, and other channels as appropriate.
  • Collaborate closely and align in a cross-functional matrix team environment and effectively design, execute, and effectively communicate relevant HEOR study results to internal and external audiences.


  • Master's degree (ideally PhD) in Health Economics, Epidemiology, Health Services Research or related field. 
  • Significant pharmaceutical/biotechnology/academic/governmental agency experience.
  • A pharmacy/clinical/scientific background is preferred.
  • Track record of peer-reviewed scientific publications demonstrating expertise in EU HEOR at the local and/or regional level.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of own core discipline and good working knowledge of health care systems and health technology assessment guidelines and processes in relevant EU countries.
  • Ability to understand disease space and appropriately plan and deliver HEOR strategy and studies for specific assets. 
  • Ability to serve as source of expertise/advice in epidemiology, outcomes research, health economics, health policy for cross-functional team members.
  • Experience with EU HTA submissions.
  • Excellent English in speaking and writing.
  • Willingness to travel within Europe (up to 20-25%).

Experience preferred:

  • Experience in application of HEOR strategies and tactics for products near to or close to launch, or that are marketed. 
  • Experience in relevant Teva therapy areas would be a plus.
  • Prior direct report management experience.
